How did we even get the idea to create comic-book bikes? Where did the story of our characters come from? And why are FÍHA children's bikes named after superheroes from Marvel?
FLOP! Put your feet up and turn on your imagination – today we're taking you on an adventurous journey behind the scenes of the magical world of FLOP! You'll learn how it all began: how we came up with the logo, why we created our trio of superheroes, who makes them look so cool, and who brought them to life in fantastical animations and stories.
Are you READY for a real ride?
EHEMMM-EHEMMM! So, it was not...
It started with one word
FEE
This is exactly the astonished word that Peta and Bára from the marketing team have been thinking about for weeks. The one word that should soon become the entire brand. UFFF! Where to start?
A-HA! Every brand needs a really catchy logo to start with, one that catches everyone's attention at first glance. Okay, but what should it look like?
It cost twenty sleepless nights, staring at the ceiling and contemplating the immortality of a cockroach, while their boiled brains desperately screamed " FÍÍÍHAAA!" at the girls.
And then it finally hit them. Well, of course – WOW! It sounds like a surprise: this is exactly what you say when something really WOW happens. So it's an interjection. And we know interjections from comics. And comics are totally awesome!
SNATCH! Under a wave of inspiration, our graphic designer Bára grabbed a digital brush and immediately jumped into action. Goal? A logo that screams“COMIC” at first glance ! It’s playful, fun and cool. It looks great on a bike frame, on a website or on a T-shirt. And it’s simply ours: we want to design it and use it exactly the way we want.
Bára drew until her hand was smoking. KRR-RRR!When she put down the pen, it was painted. Our new logo, inspired by the graffiti look and comic book bubble font, shone on the screen. Exactly what we were looking for!
SSST! Have you noticed that the logo onthe bike frame looks like a secret message? It's not visible from the side like other bikes: it's hidden on the top of the frame tube, so you only see itwhen you look at the bike from above. A small detail for a big show...just the way we like it!
Colors? Superheroes, I prefer!
PHEW! We should have a logo. But another challenge was looming around the corner: coming up with names for the individual bike colors. We tried everything – and after we brought artificial intelligence to an existential crisis, we decided to focus on the human brain.
And it really paid off! We decided that common color names like “ light bronto purple” or “dark smurf”were pretty boring. MEH! Instead, we associated each color variantof the bikewith a comic book superhero that little robbers would identify with much more.
TA-DAAA! And so 3 legendary FÍHA characters were created:
💜Aura Blazer(purple) – a fearless urban hero who teaches kids not to be afraid of driving in traffic and is great on ramps.
💙Coral Bubble(turquoise) – a cheerful bubble from the underwater realm, riding a wave of well-being.
❤️Rockeeon(red) – a brave adventurer from the wilderness who knows every trail and forest path.
But a real superhero needs a cool look and his own world. And we knew exactly who would provide it for them!
How to draw a bicycle hero
Our heroes have names – but they still lack a cruel image. We needed someone who could conjure up a children's world with a few strokes of the pencil, where traffic lights wave at little cyclists and fish with the expression of underwater mafia wear cycling goggles underwater.
PING! Our secret message landed in the virtual mailbox of Brno-based graphic designer and illustrator Ivan Svárovský, alias Yvans : Aura Blazer, Rockeeon and Coral Bubbleneed a face – and a tough costume!
Yvans got to work – and once he was done, he called his inseparable friend to help.partner, animator Jaroslav Adamuščin.He animated the characters and brought them to life. YOO-HOO! Thanks to him, Coral Bubble or Rockeeon can wave on our homepage! The guys also added moremoving images to the website to give it the right comic book vibe!
PSSSS!Do you want to know how a comic book character is created? And how does it move so that it can pedal at lightning speed?Read the interviewwith graphic designer Yvans and animator Jaro Adamuščin!
And because every superhero needs a compelling story, it's time to get your imagination going on rocket power.
A story that gets your heart pumping and your imagination going
WOW! The first images of superheroes in the comic book world by Yvans appeared on the boxes in which FÍHA children's bikes travel to the little superheroes.
But that wasn't enough for us. We wanted to tell a story to children. To draw them into a fantastic comic book universe full of adventures on two wheels. To show them that a bike is not just a means of transportation, but a gateway to a world of fun and fantasy, where they can start their own superhero story.
Copywriter Verča fired up her keyboard, mouse, and coffee maker and started writing. CLICK CLICK! CLICK CLICK! She played with the story in a way that would entertain the children, teach them something, and most importantly, motivate them to exercise healthily.
PHEW! We're almost done. Finally, we needed to tweak the homepage of the FÍHA website so that it would be attractive to both young and old at first glance. The plan was to shoot a video with little heroes who are riding FÍHA bikes in the city and in nature.
But the weather stopped us. OOOPS! Rain, wind, autumn... just not much for filming.
But you know what? Here too, everything bad is good for something. Instead of a video, a great cartoon animation was created by Yvans and Jaro Adamuščin. The boy on the bike FÍHAgradually rides through each of the three superhero worlds and shows that anyone can be a cycling hero – even you!
FÍHA mission accomplished!
YEEE-HA – and we're done! Kids' bikes that will make kids feel like superheroes? Check! A well-designed website full of moving comic pictures? Check! Fun stories that will get kids moving? Check! All it took was an idea and a bunch of people who still love to play. Oh, and a good dose of coffee.
At the FÍHA team, we believe that a bike for children is not just a means of transportation. It is a gateway to a world full of adventure, thanks to which little heroes fall in love with cycling. And with the right bike, it is a love for life.
HEY! So what are you waiting for? Choose your cartoon sidekick, hop in the saddle and go superhero-style!
WHOOSH! The holidays are coming to an end, but don't park the hell machine just yet. From August 13 to September 13, 2026, you will receive a free book, Lev Alex frčí na kole (The Lion Alex Rides a Bike), with every FÍHA children's bike. So put on your helmet, put your hands on the handlebars, and let's go for the next mission.
CLICK! The helmet buckle clicks. SNAP! Little hands grip the handlebars. Are you ready? The little bike hero bounces off the ground. The pedals slowly spin. It looks uncertain for a moment… but then suddenly — ZOOM! The road beneath the wheels comes to life and the adventure can begin.
